WIND MEASUREMENT STATION INSTALLATION JOURNEY AT CHU PUH – GIA LAI

Overcoming red soil terrain challenges to gather wind data for a sustainable energy future

1. Project Introduction

Under the guidance of Deputy Technical Manager Lê Công Minh, the technical team of Thinh Phong MCT Co., Ltd. installed a wind measurement station in Chu PuH, Gia Lai Province.
This area has high wind potential in the Central Highlands, playing a key role in collecting data to support renewable energy development.

2. Terrain Features and Construction Challenges

Chu Pu area has red basalt soil, with many sloped and slippery paths, especially during rainy weather.
Transporting equipment faced many obstacles, requiring the team to:

  • Manually transport materials across steep slopes.

  • Reinforce temporary roads for trucks to reach the site.

  • Protect equipment from mud and moisture.

Despite harsh conditions, the team maintained determination and coordination to complete each task on schedule.

3. Installation Process

The tasks included:

  • Excavation and main tower installation following technical standards.

  • Pulling signal cables, installing wind, temperature, and humidity sensors.

  • Configuring, calibrating, and checking data from the logger.

4. Results and Significance

After several days of effort, the Chu PuH – Gia Lai wind station has been successfully completed and is now operational.
The system is steadily collecting wind data, supporting research and evaluation of wind energy potential in the Central Highlands.
